How It Started
Artifex Consulting was founded by Matt Carlson. Matt has spent the last 28 years in the Skilled Nursing Space working to make the industry better. Matt is a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator in the states of Illinois and Florida. Matt began his career working in the laundry and over the years worked his way to become the administrator of a 294 bed skilled nursing facility. The facility specialized in Ventilator, Tracheostomy, Dialysis, and Wound care. Matt has taken the experience he gained from this time to develop similar programs in the states of Texas, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, and Florida. Matt has served as the Senior Operator of multiple portfolios up to 22 facilities.

Artifex Consulting, LLC is a boutique consultancy that offers a variety of services to not only Skilled Nursing Facilities but to affiliate partners that are looking to enter the Long Term Care space. Artifex partners with new products and assists with bridging the gap between vendor and implementation of their product. Artifex also specializes in revamping sluggish facilities with an out of the box approach to conquering census issues as well as financial controls.
